THE 3 MOST EXPENSIVE HOUSES IN THE MOST EXPENSIVE POSTCODE AREAS

Look, on Funda I like to search from two million with no limit upwards. Not that I can afford it, but just enjoying peeking at the (distant) neighbors. Money really doesn't always mean taste, but it's addictively nice to see what you get for that amount.

That little hobby of mine is child's play compared to

this sitethat of Californian realtor Mauricio Umansky (you know, the one from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills). What about properties of three million? Here, there's comfortably another zero behind it.

In the category ‘let me do something useful with hours I've wasted surfing houses’ and ‘also fun for you’, I've written a little post about it. Ta-da, the most expensive houses in the most expensive postcode areas.

1. Atherton California

This place has six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and that is spread over 13,350 square meters. This way, you can meet your quota on your step counter. The price tag attached to this house was 21.95 million dollars, but bad luck: it has already been sold.

2. Or this one in the Hamptons

For 34 million it's all yours to have. You're about an hour's drive from New York, you have a heated pool, a hot tub, a spa, a baseball field, a tennis court, and of course also a number of guest accommodations and a theater. And, good news, this one is still on the market. Yes!

3. I seriously want this one

But really. I need to live here. Or at least be invited regularly. Or know people who know people who live here. Or who have visited here. This house is located in SoHo, there is a wine cellar, a silver bathtub, a yoga lawn (I’m not quite sure what that is, but it sounds very much like something I can't live without), a rooftop terrace, and a wet bar (the same goes for this: no idea, but it's a basic essential in our lives). And just look at that window arrangement. And it's just around the corner from the nicest shops, huh. Just around the corner. I want it, I want it, I want it. Does it cost? 65 million dollars. I hope this includes the wine stock. That's the least.

The funny thing is that once you've seen this amount, you suddenly find those other two houses incredibly cheap.
