Holy guacamole! Simone gets an avocado ripe to eat in ten minutes.

Rich in good fats, versatile, and the photo hit on Instagram – the avocado is no longer separable from many foodies. Only one problem: it has to be just ripe enough. We're talking about unripe avocados here.

Oh lordy lord, frustration at its peak when at the Appie all the avocados that are supposedly ripe to eat are not ripe at all. Totally unripe or totally overripe. Albert Heijn, where is it going wrong? So I have to look for a trick and I found it…

All you need:

·      An unripe avo

·      a piece of aluminum foil

·      a preheated oven (100 degrees)

Wrap the avo in foil. Then place it in the oven for ten minutes and you can scrape the flesh right off the pit. Well, you don't need to be a kitchen princess for that.

Okay, a small ‘but’ to this nice story… The somewhat unripe taste, unfortunately, I can't change that. So for your Sunday brunch (avo on toast, all-time favorite) you will unfortunately have to find an alternative (Coffee & Roasters is also not a punishment). But when you have that portion of nachos with guacamole on the agenda (with loads of pepper and quite a few cloves of garlic), you will be grateful to me.
