Does anyone have 20 million lying around?
Last week I attended a wedding. Of course, I cried at the ceremony (for the record; I wasn't getting married, but give me a dress, two rings, a church, and a solid speech and you have me) and I found the bride (in red) stunningly beautiful. There was champagne, there was cake, and in the evening a sparkling dance floor and a good DJ. Although I am not married myself and have not discovered my inner bridezilla, I love weddings so much.
This week in Russia, Said Gutseriev and his fiancée Khadijah, 20, also got married. There was cake, a dress, and an ‘I do’, but it was all just a bit different. The whole party cost a modest 700 million dollars. That was spent on the venue where the bride thought it would be a nice idea to decorate the entire ceiling with flowers. And well, since they were at it, why not do the pillars too? And of course, the guests had to be transported in a nice car. So she snapped her fingers and a fleet of Rolls-Royces appeared.

A bridal band was of course a bit too ordinary, so Jennifer Lopez (costing one million dollars), Sting, and Enrique Iglesias were hired to provide some entertainment. The dress was ordered from Elie Saab and cost 18,000 euros. In light of the rest of the circus, I suddenly find that quite little.
Because I enjoy it so much, I’ll list some other over-the-top weddings.
Kim Kardashian & Kanye West:
Cost between 20 and 30 million and took place in France and Italy. Well, you can really read all about it here.
Kim wore a couture dress by Givenchy that was specially made for Kim. Riccardo Tisci and Kim are actually very besties.
Andrea Bocelli sang and is said to have charged $136,170 for it, while Lana Del Rey supposedly did it for free. Unfortunately, it did not inspire her for a second album.
The highlight was definitely the flower wall that Kanye had built for Kim. But actually, it pales in comparison to that flower ceiling of our Russian friends.
Nicole Richie & Richie Joel Madden
Married in Beverly Hills at dad Lionel Richie's house. Nicole had three dresses from Marchesa and what I find really fun is that there was a giant elephant present. Nicole looked slim next to that.

Yes, I didn't know them either, but he is a Russian billionaire and she was once Miss Yugoslavia. They got married on the Côte d’Azur in 2005.

This wedding cost 44 million dollars, during which they had a stadium (yes, you read that right) built for their 20,000 most intimate guests. The wedding lasted seven days... You come along with your hippie wedding.

James Stunt (a top-notch businessman, who is now a fine billionaire) is married to a girl named Petra Ecclestone (indeed, the daughter of the big Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone). If you ever need to explain what a hot chick is, just type the name Petra Ecclestone into Google Images. For their wedding, they rented a castle in Rome and called in Eric Clapton, Andrea Bocelli (old gig performer), The Black Eyed Peas, and David Guetta for some entertainment. The dress came from Vera Wang and cost 80,000 pounds. Look, those are amounts. Our Russian lady with her miserable 18,000 dollar outfit can still learn something from that.
