THIS IS THE SUMMER DRINK OF THE YEAR
Don't think that summer is over, you hear. It might drizzle and drop a bit from time to time, but I am counting on an Indian summer this year. And what are we drinking then? Frosé. At least, if we are to believe the Americans. They are all hooked on the frosé IV, or ice-cold rosé. A kind of granita or slush puppy (remember that, back in the day, at the beach?). And that sounds like incredibly fun music to my ears. You can combine the frozen rosé with different types of fruit or sweet syrups. Let's keep it quiet, because I think many a sommelier will break down over this news.
Want to make frosé yourself? Here's how.
You will need:
A bottle of rosé
100 gr sugar
1 glass of water
Ice cubes
10 strawberries
The juice of 2 lemons
Pour the rosé into a Tupperware container and let it sit in the freezer overnight. Boil water in a saucepan and add the sugar. When the sugar dissolves, remove the saucepan from the heat and add the strawberries. Let the syrup rest for thirty minutes. Remove the strawberries from the syrup by fishing them out or using a sieve. Now everything can go into a blender: the frozen rosé, the syrup, the lemon juice, and a handful of ice cubes. Pour into festive wine glasses and: cheers!
