Dip? Then do this
It's not yet four o'clock, but it's almost there and you already know what's coming. A rumbling stomach, yawning, and you're dozing off. Recognizable? The so-called four o'clock dip. And then probably half of the Netherlands goes for the Cup-a-Soup. Or is that already over? Hope so!
You really have many other ways to get over that dip.
- First of all, I would just go to bed a bit earlier.
- Go outside and take a short walk. Even if it's just three minutes. Just get away from the place where you're working. Then you'll be over it in no time.
- Eat something. A banana, for example. Or make a cup of coffee.
- Put on some cheerful, swinging music in your ears. Or if your colleagues don't mind, maybe the radio can be a bit louder.
- Take a piece of gum.
- Drink water, and not from the jug that's nearby, but take a little walk to the tap. That way, you'll move a bit too.
- Take a few deep and conscious breaths. Stand up, stretch yourself really tall, and stretch out. Or, since I'm a bit in my yoga phase; do a downward facing dog. You'll feel completely refreshed again.
