USEFUL TASKS YOU CAN DO DURING DELAYS

Delays are just crap. You really never feel like it. When you go on a trip, you are so incredibly eager to arrive at your vacation destination, and when you are on your way back home, you actually just want to be home. Overall, it's nice when a trip is quickly behind you; it's all just so long waiting. But well, you can't do anything about delays yourself. At least, you can't solve the delay. You can, however, do something about the waiting time. Namely, make it more pleasant or even useful. I'll tell you how.

– Are you at Schiphol by any chance? Rush to the oyster and champagne bar. And... just enjoy it.

– Do you have your laptop with you? You have the perfect time to clean up your emails. When else do you have time for that?

– And what about making a photo album? That's something everyone intends to do but never gets around to or lets it slide a bit. Come on, add photos from your last trip and put together a nice album at Hema.

– Are you still in the Netherlands? Call that friend or family member or that person you actually wanted to talk to for a long time. You have plenty of time for that now.

– Well, and lastly (and you can never blame me for this): go shopping, I would say.
