WHY DO YOU ALSO WANT THIS BREAD TO COME TO THE NETHERLANDS?
On this rainy Sunday afternoon, I want to delight you with some news from our neighbors. The British retailer Marks & Spencer is introducing something brilliant; the ‘croloaf’: a bread made from a handful of croissants. Yep, you heard that right. A croissant bread made from real butter.
Why you also want this sandwich to come to the Netherlands?
- A bread made of croissants. A BREAD yes, isn’t that reason enough for you to want this on your breadboard?
- A slice of croloaf contains about 114 calories, significantly less than the 340 calories in a croissant. This means you can have two slices at breakfast. Hooray.
- Half of the bread is air, super good for your figure. Have another slice.
- This bread fits in your toaster. Much better than a slice of casino white. Can you imagine? Warm and crispy with a dollop of butter and a soft-boiled egg. Will the kitchen prince please step forward? I would like breakfast in bed. Now, please.
- Croloaf stays fresh longer than a regular croissant. Not that it necessarily has to, because this bread will just be gone immediately.
- You can make your slice as thick as you want. Because yes, how thick is that slice of 114 calories? Nobody knows.
- It is and remains bread. And you eat bread on Monday morning too. No one can say it’s only for the weekend. Bread is bread.
- If your loved one asks you to bring back some bread on your way home from work, you can just take a croloaf. Because yes, once again: bread is bread.
- Bring it on, Albert Heijn, we are eagerly waiting.
