Amayzine

Fun & Famous

100% AMAYZINE

If I wanted to type some pieces, as the editorial team en masse went on a daiquiri infusion in the summer? YES OF COURSE. So I stepped into Amayzine for the first time in July with my laptop. Well, I wasn't completely blank, because I already knew the Amayzine girls a bit and I thought it was fun to find them.

Your editors came back to the office ultra-tanned after a nice summer, but I just went to Amsterdam in my old car. May allowed it, so it wasn't stalking (imagine me lying on my knees at the door asking if I could type pieces, by the way, I would have done that). When the wine was in sight (yes, on Fridays) I would zoom over the ring road to the offices. Just a day of banging on my keyboard. But then you fall in love. As in: hopelessly in love with that job and with Amayzine. And then you want more, right? I do, because I'm that type. I should have a cup of tea with May. The tea turned into wine and voilà, here I am.

Now I pretend that it was just like that, hupsakee, for the baker. But HE had to come along too and moving was quite a thing (you get that when you still have one house in storage and want something else with a dishwasher). The latter is still a bit under construction, so I cross the whole country in the morning. My request to the working person is also whether everyone can just go on vacation for a few more weeks. That smooth flow on the A4 suits me extraordinarily well. I say: we have a deal.

“And now, now I'm just going to make it a
Amayzine time”

How did that writing come about? You probably want to know. Or not, but I'll just tell you anyway. I was that little girl in elementary school who looked a lot like a bookworm terminator. In high school, I typed together some writings for the school newspaper between cigarettes, breaks, and kissing boys. And my first education went to the moon because the typing percentage was nil. Change of plans, another study then. And so it happened that I was trembling and shaking when I stepped into the headquarters of Sanoma on a memorable day. There, the baby spoon was replaced by the loading bay of a forklift and I got all the ins and outs of editor land thrown at me. It made me realize that I found working much more important than graduating, so delays. But goodness, I also started to take it seriously and got my first and second job along the way.

And now, now I'm just going to make it an Amayzine time (preferably until my retirement). Very, very Amayzine brain spins for you to write, some a bit deeper than others because it has to stay a bit fun. And then I also get to boss around, to assist May. This is (REALLY, ENORMOUS, GIGA, AMAZING, INSANE, does a cheerio on the table) fun. I mean, the little girl dream of that bookworm terminator. Can't wait to amaze you all, dear everyone.
