3 tips from the designer himself
The Thalys took me on a trip to Paris to meet the oh so charming Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, also known as JD/DC. If you're thinking: who is this man? Let me tell you. He is the ‘King of Unconventional’, known for his progressive designs. Jean-Charles designed for Lady Gaga and Beyoncé, and the teddy coat also comes from his drawing board. But back to Paris, because there Castelbajac launched a limited edition smartphone for OnePlus, named ‘Callection’. I think that's really cool. By the way, it doesn't stop at the design of the phone; you can make it even fancier with accessories. A bag, cap, shirt, all with super cool prints. In between, I managed to get some tips from JC/DC.
1. The little accident
Never be too perfect. Perfection is actually very boring. The skirt you normally only dare to wear on the weekend, wear it on a weekday with a T-shirt. To the office, yes.
2. Forget trends
Don't think too much about trends, but try to stay true to yourself. It sounds cliché, but if you wear something you feel good in, you radiate power. So if you're a sneaker girl and you see those killer heels towering over you for that fancy party? Just go for the sneakers.
3. Perfection doesn't exist
Always complaining about those slightly too thick legs? Blessed with a beautiful head of curls, but do you style your hair every day? Own it, girl. Embrace your imperfections and wear those pants you wouldn't normally choose. Because imperfections should be seen.
And if the designer says it themselves, who are we to doubt that?
