One of the most fun roles to play was that of Kat in Zwarte Tulp. The tracksuits, that lovely accent, and that terrible but oh so sweet Ben who always causes problems. I'm afraid that love for tracksuits and that coarse tongue has never completely gone away... When I saw yesterday that I was nominated for Best Actress for the Televizier-Ring for Kat, I felt so honored! A prize determined by the public, so hopefully they enjoyed Kat just as much as I did! Hopefully vote you too?

It quickly became clear on the echo from whom Otis inherited his head circumference... My husband has size XL, which means literally all the baby hats remain untouched in the closet. Unlike my small head, which is why I often succeed in the children's department. When I find a hat brand that produces size 54, I buy it immediately like crazy! Now this discovery is only life-threatening: Demure Couture Hat Amsterdam can make all hats to measure for you. And everything from the collection is truly beautiful. But what do you expect with the Japanese Yuki at the helm who learned the fine points of the trade from Vivienne Westwood's hat maker? Note to Pharrell: I’ve found a new hatter that’s even more creative and better than your last one!

Every year in August it's a fixed routine: eating burritos together, making poffertjes, and watching performances at the Parade. Every year, some friends are in a show, so the must-see list is quite long... But in the end, we managed to see everything, enjoyed a delicious burrito in the last sunshine (which was a bit disappointing, but nostalgia won...) and perfectly timed the poffertjes making during the huge thunderstorm (read: high and dry above a hot poffertjes plate). A huge shout-out to ‘La Garcon Y Le Chica’ who had everyone dancing on the benches with their amazing songs. The same band closed the big tent with a stellar performance. At least, that's what I've heard, because by then my dear mother was already asleep after giving the last feed. Hashtag momlife...

Since the filming of Bella Donna’s, I have developed a huge earring addiction. Our makeup artist always wore the most beautiful rings from Eenvoud, which is why I immediately got three extra holes pierced with my co-star right after filming. And then it was time to shop. Now I had bought those same beautiful rings, but it's impossible to put them in and out myself (and Jon was getting crazy from fiddling with my ear, often to the point of bleeding), so the search for ‘easy’ rings became a fact. Thank God for Instagram, because my prayers were quickly answered when I saw Eline Rosina: beautiful gold-plated earrings that are finally human-proof. The big downside: now that I can change every day, my collection has immediately doubled.

Now that the premiere of Bella Donna’s is getting closer and Jon's next feature film is in the starting blocks, this was the moment to go on vacation with the family. Our first reaction when we booked: ‘How wonderful!’ But yesterday during packing, panic set in: what a lot of extra stuff, will everything go well during the flight, are we taking a stroller or not?! In the end, I was up at 6:00 AM this morning, frantically packing the last things, dressing Otis airplane-proof, and making sandwiches for mom and dad on board. Once we arrived at Schiphol with all the stuff, a whole new world opened up for me! Because: buggy plus child equals skipping all the lines, boarding first, and extra help from the cabin crew who stare at the little man just as endearingly as we do... Our next flight is already scheduled for mid-November!
