Last night, quite a few little hearts were beating with anticipation... I can still vividly remember the excitement when the good saint was back in the country. I can't wait to celebrate Sinterklaas extensively with Otis in a few years, with a big bag of presents at the door and ginger nuts flying around the room. But this year, I couldn't resist giving the little one a Piet touch, and the whole family was almost in tears when they saw this baby Piet for the first time. This little hat will go in the bag to Spain to be recycled again next year.
With all those sample sales last week, it was high time for a KonMari day at home. For everyone who thinks they are reading about a sushi dish: this is the decluttering method of author Marie Kondo, a very cute Japanese lady who has grown into a global decluttering guru. If you read her book, you might think she’s a bit crazy about some things (‘Thank your bag every day for carefully carrying your belongings’), but her KonMari method has already prevented divorces in many households. By now, Jon and I are a bit addicted to the KonMari principle, and our house feels much lighter after getting rid of all the things you no longer use. So, there is plenty of space in my closet for my latest acquisitions.
Recently, I read a delightful article in LINDA. about the use of supplements: one lady took as many as eight pills a day, another was fine with just one multi, and someone claimed that supplements are complete nonsense. Now, I must say that I am also quite fond of dietary supplements, especially during my pregnancy. Of course, the foundation lies in a varied and healthy diet, but a little extra support can’t hurt. When I received the invite to get a tailored advice from VitaViva dietary supplements, I eagerly accepted. The brand has a medical background, and all products are researched and medically substantiated. Now, two weeks later, I’m taking five pills a day and I really feel much more energetic. For the skeptics: well-founded and personalized supplements are really worth a try, because if it doesn’t help...
My clothing-makeup ratio is quite skewed: I seem to want to compensate for my exorbitant amount of outfits by only dedicating half a drawer in the bathroom cabinet to makeup and hair products. Of course, through my work, I come into contact with the most beautiful products, but if I can’t apply them easily myself, they end up unused in my drawer a few years later: such a waste. Especially with hair products, because somehow I can never get my hair to look the same after purchasing exactly the same products as a hairstylist has, as it did during that one shoot. Thank you, Dyson, for the super easy and fantastic supersonic hairdryer, which has finally allowed me to make my locks somewhat presentable for the past two years. And I had actually planned this limited edition release for myself under the tree, but I just couldn’t resist using it already. How else am I supposed to style my hair for all those Christmas dinners?
