Cocktails of your favorite
When I stroll through the 9 Streets of Amsterdam on the weekend, I always slip inside for a toilet stop at the Pulitzer. Hotels are definitely one of my favorites, but this one has definitely risen to number one after its reopening. All bathrooms and public toilets are equipped with shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap in my favorite scent: Santal 33 by Le Labo. Heaven. And I fear that after this festive month, I will have to go alcohol-free for a while. Not because of the cozy Christmas drinks or festive five-course dinners with accompanying wine pairings, no, this winter Pulitzer’s Bar is introducing cocktails based on the ingredients of my body scent. Head bartender Andrei Talapanescu has put three different cocktails on the menu featuring cardamom, violet, and leather from Santal 33 in the lead role.
Cardamom
Ophir spiced gin, rosemary syrup, grapefruit juice, and cardamom bitters
Violets
Flower gin, mandarin and Calamansi Scrub, violet liqueur, egg white, and soda
Leather
Bourbon, Amontillado sherry, Disaronno Amaretto, aromatic bitters, and edible leather
Go, sniff, and taste. Oh, and don’t wait too long, these new cocktails are unique and temporary. So you understand that this month it won’t just be a toilet visit.
