THE LATEST FITBIT
‘How many do you have on the counter, Simoon?’ Since last week, we start our day with conversations like this. May and I are Fitbit buddies. I find that the most fun. Someone who understands how great it is to keep track of your kilometers, check your heart rate, and know how many calories have already been burned. I have several smartwatches at home in the closet, but Fitbit is a true keeper. I’ve had the brand new Fitbit Alta HR for less than a week and I already can’t live without it. Why? I’ll explain.
- This new variant is super slim, making it ideal to wear alongside your regular watch or on your other wrist as a bracelet.
- The Fitbit Alta HR continuously measures your heart rate, making your calorie consumption more accurately calculated.
- The step counter registers every step and automatically recognizes when you are exercising.
- The latest Fitbit is splash-proof, allowing you to wear it worry-free while exercising (and sweating is no problem).
- It is the first variant that also accurately records your sleep pattern. This way, you can precisely track how much impact a good night's sleep has on your sports performance.
- Messages, appointments, and calls are displayed on the screen when you connect your smartphone to the Fitbit.
- The new Fitbit has more than ten different types of bands. How cool is that? While exercising, I wear a flashy coral-colored silicone band (for the sweaty wrists) and during the day, I wear a stainless steel band that perfectly matches my watch. Prefer a leather one? No problem.
- You have 24/7 access to the Fitbit app on your phone where you can track your steps, calories, sleep, and sports performance.
- From now on, you can connect with your friends. And this way, May and I keep track of who takes the most steps in a day. Suddenly, I’m not the only one who makes the coffee, and May is the runner when the bell rings and the postman stands at the door with a stack of packages. All for the meters.
