Favorite wine

The summer of 2015 completely ruined me. I went on a road trip through California with Mr. X for the second time, where we visited the vast vineyards of Sonoma and Napa Valley, among other places. If you are a wine connoisseur, this probably sounds like music to your ears. This is where (if you ask me) the best Chardonnays come from. I lost my heart in Carmel and found my love for Chardonnay in the valley of the idyllic village. To be precise, in the perhaps well-known Bernardus winery, owned by the Dutchman Ben Pon. That visit to Mr. Pon has ruined me forever. The Bernardus Chardonnay is the perfect expression of Monterey Chardonnay and has notes of ripe apple and pear, nuts, and yes, crème brûlée. But yes, for such a delicious bottle (and you know: one is none) you pay about twenty-five euros. But, dear friend, last week my life suddenly changed. My sister-in-law, who is a huge wine connoisseur and drinker, pushed a bottle of white into my hands. ‘Here Simoon, this will be your new favorite.’ And for a moment, just a moment, I thought she was pulling my leg and had secretly stuck another label on the bottle. The G7 provides a tropical party in your glass, with peach, banana, lychee, and soft citrus fruit coming together. The wine has spent ten months in French oak barrels, resulting in delicious toasted vanilla notes. The taste of Bernardus, but for a Hema price. Do you know where to bike after work? I can at least not wait until it is five o'clock. Cheers.
