Levi’s 90’s jeans

On Saturdays, I prefer to be anywhere in Amsterdam except in the Kalverstraat. Too many people in a few square meters, that makes me panic. And yet I couldn't avoid it last weekend. It was gray, dreary, and depressing weather, and my trusty shorts were sadly draped over my chair. In short, I was looking for a very bad excuse to go shopping. A visit to my trusted friends for a new good pair of jeans seemed like a pretty good idea. And yes, if your Saturday class is within walking distance of the Kalverstraat and finishes just before ten, it's almost meant to be, right? With my sports pants still stuck to my calves and sweat on my back, I made a lightning visit to the forbidden weekend territory. You understand that no tight skinny jeans were tried on (because sweat) and that the oh-so-tempting shorts stayed neatly on the pile. The brand new 90’s, on the other hand, came home with me. I felt an acute homesickness for Beverly Hills 90210. The fellow thirty-somethings know what I'm talking about. If not, then you know what’s on the agenda tonight. The rest of the day could stay gray, dreary, and depressing for all I cared. With my new love, I plopped down on the couch. Guess what played on my screen for the rest of the day. Right, yes. Brenda Walsh and Dylan McKay.
