Eat yourself wrinkle-free
Turning thirty, the first lines and hey, I suddenly have bags under my eyes after a night of partying (I never had this before). So I never had to deal with that.). Getting older does have its advantages, right? But I’d prefer to be wrinkle-free and fit. My sink made room for anti-wrinkle cream and eye serums for the first time. Did you know that you can also influence aging with your food? Anti-aging food, yes, it exists. Coffee, alcohol, and sugar speed up the aging process, so we prefer to keep those in the cupboard as much as possible. What should you definitely eat?
1. Leafy greens
Spinach and other green leafy vegetables are good for your smooth skin. These vegetables contain the substance lutein. Lutein is an important antioxidant mechanism that hydrates the skin and keeps it elastic.
2. Beans and legumes
Beans are rich in antioxidants and help improve your skin. Especially red beans are good against wrinkles.
3. Tomatoes
Tomatoes contain many antioxidants as well as the substance lycopene, which reduces the risk of cancer. So from now on, throw a few extra red ones into your salad, pasta, or on your sandwich.
4. Chicken and turkey
Replace your piece of beef or pork with a piece of chicken or turkey. Turkey, in particular, is rich in vitamin B and contains a lot of protein, which helps reduce the aging process of the skin.
5. Goji berries
I’m not a huge fan of the superfood hype, as you know by now. Still, this little berry is good against wrinkles. It contains a very high amount of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Goji berries have good nutritional values for your skin. The berry contains, among other things, vitamins B1, B2, B6, and E, linoleic acid, and 500 times more vitamin C than oranges.
6. Flaxseed
Flaxseed is rich in Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. From now on, throw an extra scoop into your granola or oatmeal. The more flaxseed you eat, the plumper the skin cells will be, and the less visible your wrinkles will become.
7. Beets
Beets are low in calories and high in fiber. They also contain antioxidants and a pigment called anthocyanin. Anthocyanin promotes good collagen production in the skin.
8. Fatty fish
Salmon contains Omega 3 fatty acids just like flaxseed. This prevents inflammation and results in smoother skin.
9. Organic
Eat as much organic and unprocessed food as possible. This way, you take in as little junk as possible and keep your body and thus your skin clean.
