the doppio G
Morning cuties, it's time for the weekly modeles again. Today on the menu: Gucci. Wednesday was the show where all the fashion girls became particularly restless and drafty again, hence the double G. The objet de désir of the fashion-loving kind.
What?
The double G. The initials of Guccio Gucci (seriously, that's what the man was called). Guccio was a lift boy at the fancy Savoy hotel in London. He saw all the precious suitcases of the well-groomed guests and thought: I can do better. And hipper. He observed the incurably rich and saw where their temperature rose. Everything with horses breathed class, nobility, and chic. Enter: the Gucci wide stripe, inspired by the girth with which you attach the saddle under a horse's belly. The bit, also such a fancy thing. Don't think that Guccio had a great love for horses or an equestrian background. Mais non, he just tasted that this worked.
Why?
The double G has given the previous logo a boost. Alessandro Michele blew the dust off it, added some hip, contemporary elements and voilà: the new it-item was born.
Who wears it?
Who doesn't, you could better say. It can go with hipsters and classic types, on a deconstructed jeans, but also on a dark blue short.
How much does it cost?
From 300 euros you have Guccio around your waist. You might think that's a lot of money, but you don't need much more than that. It elevates every outfit, gives you instant chic and hipness, and you enjoy it several times a week. And it's a keeper. So.
