FASHION DILEMMA OF THE WEEK

These sunglasses suit your face shape best

Am I still on time? Or have you here or here found your new sun buddy by now? No, not yet? I totally get it. Because the search for the perfect sunglasses can sometimes be quite a challenge. Just like for clothing sunglasses, the same credo applies: not all shapes are equal and not every model fits every body. So whether you have an oval, round, or rectangular face shape; I'll tell you which glasses you should slide on your nose this season.

Heart

A heart-shaped face has a wider forehead, a narrower jawline, and a pointed chin. When shopping for new sunglasses, look for larger lenses and thinner arms. The ‘aviator’ or the slightly larger round frames look great on you and then you shift the focus from the wide forehead in a super natural way.

Round glasses, €294,- Gucci via Mister Spex

Gold-tone, €295,- Chloé

Oval

Do you have an oval face shape? Then your jaw and forehead are about the same width and your cheekbones are slightly narrower. You lucky bastard, you can have almost any glasses. The only thing to watch out for is that the sunglasses are not too big or too small compared to your head. Rectangular, round, a Cat-eye, and the ‘wayfarer’ are the frames that suit you best.

Rectangular sunglasses, €275,- Céline

Wayfarer, €290,- Fendi

Round sunglasses, €25,- Topshop

Round

Does the length of the face not differ much from its width? Then you have a round face shape. The slightly angular frames suit you best. Think of rectangular or square lenses, dark colors, and a slightly oversized model.

Rectangular sunglasses, €25,- Topshop

Square sunglasses, €465,- Victoria Beckham

Square leopard sunglasses, €69,- & Other Stories

Rectangular

A rectangular face shape is longer than it is wide and has a somewhat broader jawline and a wide forehead. You have a somewhat square jawline, which makes the wayfarer, aviator, or rectangular glasses look the best on you.

Aviator sunglasses, €290,- Gucci

Aviator sunglasses, €12,- Monki

Wayfarer sunglasses, €335,- Oliver Peoples

Square

Do you have a strong, wide jaw and a wide forehead? Then you have a square face shape. Sunglasses that are a bit larger, rounder, or more oval will make your face shape appear slightly longer. This way, you easily soften the angularity of your face.

Round sunglasses with heart print, €250,- Saint Laurent

Round sunglasses with pearl details, €190,- Freda Banana

Round sunglasses, €6.99 H&M
