For when you've forgotten Valentine's Day
Do you have a relationship? And in all the fuss of life, have you briefly forgotten that today is the day to celebrate love? Whoops. Let me start by saying that we are all human and this can always happen. But fun is, eh, another story.
The bad news? If that other person has arranged something for you (and duh, secretly hoped for something in return), you probably haven't made a good impression. The good news? I'm going to help you with your last-minute Valentine's survival guide. So, what to do?
It doesn't matter what your drawing, crafting, or singing skills are, you have something extra to make up for and with creative ideas with a heavy personal touch, you'll score points. Do it yourself it is! Still not ringing a bell? Here’s what you can do today to make it right:
1. Rush out of work with a blush on your cheeks to the supermarket and buy all the delicious things that you both have a certain memory of.
2. Really score a super cheap mega last-minute fun gift? If you're panicking and flying to the supermarket from work anyway, you might as well see if you can score an XL card. At home, grab three colors lipstick (has a real woman ready) and kiss the whole card at the bottom in different colors. Write next to each kiss what kind of kiss it is; the I’m-so-crazy-about-you kiss, for example. And then think of about twenty more.
3. Record the most beautiful voice memo message that your lover has ever heard. And for the nightingales among us: sing. Singing always works.
4. Come up with 25 fun ideas to do with your love. Write them down, buy a nice box, and put all the notes in it. Write ‘Date Night’ on it in big letters and bet that you'll be forgiven?
5. Surprise your love at home with a sexy role play. Do it yourself is taken very literally.
6. Also fun: rush to the liquor store, buy all the mini liqueurs that your love likes, put them in a box, and attach a sweet note to each bottle.
Delightfully teasing and remains exciting until the end.
7. Also check the last-minute delivery services. You're probably not the only dummy who forgot.
8. Got some money to spend and still behind that computer? Then you still have a few hours to book that weekend getaway and then act very nonchalantly at home as if you had thought of something ages ago.
9. Even better: print the link to your gift (if you ordered it online) in a very large font. Let your love open the computer and enter the entire link letter by letter. Delightfully teasing and remains exciting until the end. Just make sure you have an incomprehensible link and not: https://www.groupon-weekend-naar-barcelona.nl, got it?
10. Got a few hours left this afternoon before you see your lover? Bake cookies. Or a cake. You'll always score points with that.
11. Tea lights? Check. Massage oil? Check. Then just that happy ending afterwards and bet that no one realized that you actually forgot today?
And hey, don't forget: it's actually Valentine's Day every day, right? Always keep doing your best. Always.
