Fashion

Day two is almost over and can I say that Simoon and I are really bummed that we don't have May's step counter with us? We decided to do Fashion Week à la a fitgirl and that means walking. And okay, a little bit by taxi, but that was because we had no other choice. So you understand: we've covered quite a few kilometers today. Or underfoot. Or how do you actually say that? In any case, we've walked a lot, so those burgers we ate yesterday at Dirty Bones and my French toast from this afternoon are long gone.

Anyways, I'm taking you along, because yesterday might have been a bit fashionless, today we made up for it nicely. Three shows were on the menu: from Anya Hindmarch to Preen and ending at Topshop Unique. I can think of worse Sundays.

The Sunday of LFW starts at six in the morning. An ungodly hour of course on a Sunday, but it’s all in the name of fashion. And we could easily cover up those bags under our eyes (thanks for the tips, Lil!). Simoon and I had planned to do everything by bike today. Great idea, really, but that didn't happen, so we had to arrange a last-minute taxi towards Westminster to not be late for our first stop: Anya Hindmarch.

I would describe the show as ‘piste-chic’. Colorful knitted sweaters and shorts (okay okay, not entirely pisteproof, but so be it) with, as we are used to from Anya, accessories with a wink and faux fur wraps around the models' heads. It was only natural that we spotted some Dutch models backstage (our girls are doing well) and Simone and I have a new addition to our #girlcrush list: Annekee Molenaar. In terms of makeup, MAC Cosmetics went au naturel, but more on that tomorrow.

After Anya, our half marathon began. Off to Preen it was, where we again got to sniff around backstage. Want to know what you should buy for next year? Flat pointy boots, preferably in a vibrant color that you then combine with knee-high socks embroidered with flowers by hand. By the way, can I also mention that I've never experienced such a chill vibe backstage? Everything went smoothly, everyone was cheerful, we even chatted with Vera van Erp and Romy Schönberger and Jessie Bloemendaal was also there – again: the Dutch girls are killing it.

Fast forward a few hours later for Topshop Unique at the Tate Modern. From rainbow-colored pleated tops to silk 90s dresses with spaghetti straps. I feel a comeback coming. And faux fur jackets, ladies, those can stay a little longer. Preferably in bright colors.

That was it for day two, because Simone and I have an appointment at a strip club. We're going for a career switch. Ha, just kidding, it's not what you think. We'll tell you more tomorrow. But for now: luckily we still have the photos. Tschüss!
