LONDON'S NEW ACQUISITION

As a child, my mother caught me almost daily on the countertop with a spoon in the peanut butter jar. Candy? You could safely put it on the table, I wouldn't touch it. But a sandwich with peanut butter and sprinkles, yehes. And still, this is one of my pleasures. I don't want to call them guilty, because I'm just being honest about it. Marion, you did say I should focus on healthy fats (because: creating an extra layer of fat)?

That peanut butter obsession just continues at the office. Here we practically have a subscription to the well-known jars of Calvé; let's say about three jars (those XXL jars, yes) are scraped clean to the bottom. And then the craziest combos arise. Did you know, for example, that a rice cake with sea salt is a match made in heaven? Or what about a cracker with peanut butter and sambal? Nutella and Calvé, why isn't that in one jar yet? Oh yes, a white roll with peanut butter, banana slices, cinnamon, and a teaspoon of honey is winning. And I could go on like this for a while.

Now it was a bit quiet with our London trendsetters, but that was not for nothing. The British neighbors are coming up with a peanut butter pop-up store. My all-time favorite nut butter company Pip & Nut (just the name alone) is teaming up with the Selfridges Food Hall. If you haven't been there as a foodie, I would make sure to get to London like crazy. Don't forget to bring your credit card! In the pop-up store, you can get the classic toast topped with, yes, nut butter. You can choose from peanut butter, almond butter, and cashew butter. Then you choose your own topping. Strawberries, banana, grated apple, avocado, or coriander… You name it, they build it. For a toast, you pay three euros, but you do get it on a plate of royal British porcelain.

And now we just have to wait until Pip & Nut comes to the Netherlands.
