The BB check

It's summer. Well, the mind is in summer vibes, so we fill our Pinterest boards with iconic images of the Côte and their queen: Brigitte Bardot.

What is it?

A simple check that always appears in two colors. White-blue, white-brown, or white-red. It is woven in cotton or linen.

Who made it?

The check originated in the town of Vichy, a French place where many aprons are made.

How much does it cost?

Well, not that much. It’s about time for that in this place. You can find them in all kinds, sizes, and prices. Go to a French market, buy such a lovely blouse (I would choose a fitted one with a short puff sleeve), a short denim skirt underneath, a straw hat on, and you’re the bomb at the beach.

Who wore it?

Brigitte Bardot made the check so famous that it is now called the BB check. It’s such a classic that I believe it should hang next to the marinière in everyone’s closet. Or lie there, that’s fine too.
