Never irritated gums again thanks to these tips

I've had a stomach ache for days, I can't sleep anymore and I can only think of one thing. No, I'm not in love. And no, I also didn't buy that one designer bag that made me bankrupt. I have to go to the dentist. In five nights (yes, I'm counting them). And now you might think I'm a huge drama queen, but I'm terrified. Something about letting go and knowing that it will always be okay. Okay, I've had a cavity before and I've also had bleeding gums after brushing. And that's while I always brush my teeth neatly twice a day and barely touch the candy jar.

Whether you're brushing too hard with your toothbrush or have missed some corners and gaps between your teeth, bleeding gums are a sign that your teeth are not healthy. To prevent this, you really don't have to go to a dental hygienist every six months or floss five times a day. With these four tips, your sink will stay clean from now on and you can go to your dental check-up with peace of mind.

1. Eat healthy

The right nutrition can prevent your gums from becoming irritated. Products high in fiber, vitamin C, D, E, and Omega 3 ensure that your mouth stays healthy. Occasionally have a whole grain sandwich or add lentils or legumes to your salad and serve an extra portion of vegetables in the evening.

2. Chew gum

By chewing, you activate the production of saliva. This protects against acids and ensures that plaque bacteria can develop less easily. Chewing on a SUGAR-FREE piece of gum gets your salivary glands working, which helps you fend off new bacteria and remove existing bacteria. It's better to wait half an hour after eating a meal before getting your mouth back to work. After eating, your teeth are sensitive and chewing gum or brushing your teeth can make this worse.

3. Coconut oil rinse

Okay, you won't hear me say that you need to go for superfoods or that you should take a spoonful of flaxseed oil every day, but this trick does work. Research shows that oil pulling helps keep your teeth clean. Rinse for ten minutes every morning (and especially spit it out) and your gums will stay healthy.

4. Brush your teeth

We all know that we should brush our teeth twice a day to prevent cavities, but we also need to do this to prevent plaque. Plaque is a mixture of food residues, saliva, and bacteria and is the main cause of inflamed gums. Occasionally throw a tube of toothpaste in your cart that helps combat plaque and regularly clean your teeth and molars with a toothpick or interdental brush.
