oh mijn grammy

From all the highlights of the Grammys of course we also need to chat about all the outfits from last night, because there was quite a lot of beautiful and medium stuff on the red carpet. So here’s a round of Elke’s favorites and the outfits that can be stored far back in my closet.

Adele

I thought she looked stunning in her Givenchy couture dress. Her famous red lips she had ditched for the evening; this year she went for nude. I thought it was gorgeous.

Paris Jackson

She may be the daughter of the King of Pop, but can I say that I get huge Madonna vibes from her in the eighties? Sans beauty mark though, but definitely in a lovely Balmain jumpsuit.

Halsey

I’m quite a fan of her music (Roman Holiday – favorite) but I’m not feeling this Grammy’s look at all. More because I’m worried about the possible many nip slips she might get from this. I don’t want to know how much tape she used to keep everything in place. The suit is by Belgian Christian Wijnants so okay, because that’s his last name, she gets a passing grade.

Heidi Klum

Yes girl, you’ve got great legs. But did you forget your pants, Heidi? This is just a T-shirt from Phillipp Plein?

Katy Perry

Not really an outfit you’d see on my wishlist. Katy, who recently became part of Team Blond, wore a dress by Tom Ford last night and I find it quite meh. And by meh I mean: I’m not feeling it. At all. Sorry, Kate.

Rihanna

Best accessory of the night goes naturally to Rihanna who had a bedazzled drink bottle with her all night. And can I also say that I really find this look amayz? Alright, orange isn’t always my thing, but she can totally pull it off. However, it’s mainly her skirt from Armani Privé that I’m head over heels in love with. It’s big and it’s bold and I love it. But I think the rest of the editorial team won’t agree with me.

Solange

You say Gucci, we all say in unison at the editorial office: ‘Amen.’ Her sister may have been the Golden Girl of the night, but a solid ten for Solange in her Gucci dress.

Beyoncé

She skipped the red carpet this year, but was seen in a red glitter dress by Peter Dundas when she accepted her awards. Very beautiful yes, but all the attention this year goes to the other creation by Peter, which is back in the spotlight for the first time since his departure from Roberto Cavalli in October: the golden ensemble that transformed Queen Bey into a goddess.

Blue Ivy

A pink tuxedo. This is life. She is going to be the coolest big sister ever and is a style icon in the making.

Cee Lo Green

He came as a real life Grammy statue. At least, that’s what I thought because he was completely covered in gold, but it could also just be a creepy looking alien. No idea. I found it weird, weird. But well, award shows would also be boring without a handful of crazies. I think it has something to do with his new artist name (how many times is he going to change that for heaven's sake?!) Gnarly Davidson and the image he wants to create with it. Check here his Instagram account, I don’t get it either.

Okay, enough Grammy talk from me for today. Have a nice Monday!
