On Sunday, I was at Maman in Tribeca for the celebration of a future mama. Well, she is already a mama, but another baby is on the way. According to American tradition, that includes balloons, cake, tea, and a surprise moment. A day later, I was again at Maman. But this time without balloons. And without my wallet. At the bar, I ordered a cappuccino with my laptop under my arm, completely unaware of the absence of my wallet. I rummaged through my bag. I pulled out all sorts of receipts, lip glosses, and charging cables for various electronic devices. But... no money. The man nodded sympathetically that the coffee I so desperately need on Monday is going back into the earth via the gutter. And then there was Maman's sweetest woman. She offered to pay for my coffee because she knew the phenomenon of forgetfulness on Monday, where you take everything except that card. So, once again, thank you to that lovely lady who also – as it turned out – was of Dutch descent. Thus, Maman in Tribeca: the place for baby showers and meeting people with very good karma.

Lately, I've been going to sports games quite a bit. Usually to the Knicks, but that evening it was the Brooklyn Nets. My neighbor plays for the Nets, so I'm as proud as a peacock. The man himself has no idea that I know he lives in my building or that I'm even sitting here proudly. But that doesn't matter. I think it's cool. We got tickets through our friend J; I've never sat so close to the court. Pretty cool, right?

Tash Oakley loves to parade in her bikinis, and I – unfortunately without all those voluptuous curves – do too. Melissa Odabash met her last summer at a party from The Outnet . Today I get to choose bikinis from her new collection. With the current climate, a bikini seems like a huge far-off dream. But that will change soon... Faster than I ever thought. But more on that later.

At Café Colette I try the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and I'm still drinking my daily cup of coffee at Jane’s. And tomorrow we fly to Jane. You know, my dearest friend who lives on the west coast. Together with her and her husband, we are going skiing in California. So, I wish you all an amazing weekend. I'm quickly going to continue pulling out ski socks and such.
