In the beautiful white lace that I found as a surprise from La Maison Nouvelle , in our Italian room in the Italian castle that felt just like ours, I am back in New York. Our woolen friend is sleeping peacefully. I clock jetlagged the umpteenth coffee down. Blue is happy that we are home again. I am happy that we are home again. But it has been; that it was so, so, so beautiful. That there was so much love. That there was magic. That while reciting our vows, I disappeared with Teun into another dimension. That it was so intense. That I was enjoying every moment so much. That I have never lived so much in the here and now. That when I close my eyes, I still see him standing at the end of the path. That and so much more I still can’t believe. It was the dream. And how real and tangible it was then, it is still so unreal now.... Is that crazy?
The first photos were taken by Alice Mahran, a woman who is magical in everything she does and who she is. They are slowly coming in. I find a few more on da’gram.
Back to Brooklyn. As I wrote a little, I am still floating. We eat at Meadowsweet. I pose briefly with the best pistachio scoop, after once again the most delicious dishes on Broadway ever. We enjoy the setting sun. We go home and go to sleep. We get up again, back to normal life. So. Can someone please write an after-wedding guide? Because I don’t want to go back to normal life yet. I want to return to the bubble of love. Even if it’s just for one more day...
Project house. At Restoration Hardware, we wander around for the umpteenth time. What are we going to do? Which colors do we choose? What fits and what just doesn’t? The store is about to close, but we can stay a little longer. We choose. A few weeks later, the new furniture arrives. Completely finished. Do you want to see the end result next week? Send me a message, and I’ll convince my husband. He doesn’t want too much of our house, our ‘private’, online. And I actually agree with that. But this is still very nice to show maybe?
For all the bridesmaids, I had bracelets made of gold, with a personal text or word on the back that describes our friendship. You can see the front in the photo. Vedder & Vedder made them for me, and it was so nice to give this. A gift for eternity. Something I never take off. Not even when my husband (still getting used to this term) and I went out to dinner at Sauvage, the new hit in Greenpoint. And after a careful tasting, I can do nothing but recommend this restaurant to anyone who is now or in the near future on this side of the ocean.
