Science says: your vocabulary reveals whether you are stressed

Well, I really find that incredible, enormous, extremely, particularly nice for you. Yes, that's a strange start to this piece, but it has everything to do with the following research. Science says that your language use reveals how much stress you are experiencing. So if you think you are doing great with your vocabulary, that might actually be quite dangerous for your mental state. Oh, just by the way, nail-biting doesn't do that again, read here for a moment.

I also sometimes really lose my cool, as in a slightly elevated stress level. By the way, it seems that no one sees this on the outside until I stand up with very large nostrils and start waving my hands. I did that five minutes ago when I received ten phone calls at once, three messages, and I wanted to type this piece for you as nicely as I could. Furthermore, I remain the Dalai Lama himself in terms of facial expression, apparently. But now you can measure someone's stress by analyzing their word usage. Oh, oh.

Actually, I find this a bit scary. You should know that I not only write a lot in a day, I also talk a lot. And now, since the message with this news, I weigh every adjective before I say it. It costs me an endless amount of time, by the way. That's where it all lies, in the adjectives. If people use a reinforcing adjective above average, it can indicate stress. That's quite a thing, because I tend to find everything ‘extremely‘ or ’really‘. If the American researchers had measured me, the results would probably have shown a lot of red. I actually think I do this to make my story a bit more pleasant.

Another point of attention. The stressed among us also don't often speak in the third person. You hardly hear them say ‘they, them, you all or you guys’ (let's not forget the dialect at all). This is because stressed people are quite busy with themselves, which we also understand because: stress.

Well, I really wish you an incredibly and particularly successful plus extraordinarily delightful weekend. I'll talk to you again on Monday. So nice, really.
