STRANGER THINGS ROUND 2

You either loved it or hated it. Stranger Things, perhaps the Netflix hit of 2016 (after the Gilmore Girls revival though). And are we all already itching for the sequel? Because WTF happened to Eleven?

The second season is definitely coming this year. Filming started last October and they expect to be done around April. The exact moment when everything will be available on Netflix is still unknown, but you can assume that you can plan another binge night this coming summer.

What we know so far about season 2:

– There will again be a total of 9 episodes and the names of each episode have already been announced: 1. MadMax, 2. The Boy Who Came Back To Life, 3. The Pumpkin Patch, 4. The Palace, 5. The Storm, 6. The Pollywog, 7. The Secret Cabin, 8. The Brain, and 9. The Lost Brother.

– What else do we know? Well, the second season takes place a year later. So 1984. The year Ronald Reagan campaigned for the presidency for the second time and also the year the Space Shuttle Discovery made its first flight. Will they incorporate this into the storyline?

– The new season will be a sort of film sequel. The team behind the hit show doesn’t want people to use TV terms when it comes to the show. Something about being afraid it will be a major fail, I think. Okay, not necessarily exciting news, but at least you know.

– We don’t have to say goodbye to the dream team, because the entire Stranger Things crew is coming back. Yehesss, does this also mean the return of Barb?

“I can’t wait.”

– This means that Eleven will also be back. But how she returns is still unclear.

– Three new characters will be introduced to us: Max, Billy, and Roman. Plus two veterans from the eighties that you might still know (if you’re an ’80s baby): Sean Astin and Paul Reiser.

– Okay, bad news for all Barb fans: she is really NOT coming back. Damn it.

– There will be new hairstyles. Ha, always good to know. Will Eleven then leave the blonde life for a brunette one?

– Finally: the new season will also get a touch of James Cameron (you know, that famous film director of Titanic). Not that he is working on the series himself, but a lot of inspiration has been drawn from some of his hit films from the past (like Temple of Doom, Aliens, and Terminator 2). We’ll just call him the King of Sequels, the inspiration for the team behind Stranger Things, to ensure that season two is not a flop.

I can’t wait.
