The coolest gadgets for your kitchen

You know that I love to spend as much time as possible in the kitchen. Here you will find a sea of pans, knives, jars, and little pots. But also a whole bunch of handy kitchen gadgets. I have developed a weakness for them over the past few years: kitchen items that make cooking more fun and easier. I have listed my current favorites for you.

1. Spirelli

At least three times a week I stand with the spirelli in my hands twisting spaghetti. Sometimes with zucchini, sometimes with cucumber, and occasionally the carrot gets its turn. The perfect alternative to real spaghetti strands, but a lot healthier.

2. Kitchen tongs

Because you can do much more with this handy gadget than just flip that steak. Stirring your sauce, for example, serving the pasta on your plate, or flipping the cookies in the oven.

3. Mandoline

To get your fennel so thin that it is perfectly cooked within five minutes. But also to slice your onion to incorporate it as raw as possible into a dish.

4. Small whisk

Ideal for whipping the dressing for one salad. Small, compact but so handy.

5. Olive oil pourer

Because it looks incredibly cozy and Italian, but mainly because you can perfectly measure the amount of oil. I always say in my recipes: a swirl of olive oil. That comes from this pourer, Adeline…

6. Microplane grater

Your garlic, your parmesan, your chocolate, your cinnamon, your lemon, your nutmeg, and your ginger: you can grate everything with the Microplane, but not all at once, of course, girlfriend. Don't skimp on a good grater; they will last you a lifetime.

7. Citrus juicer

Because you want to wake up on Sunday morning with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. And of course, to squeeze that lemon. When life gives you lemons...

8. Silicone spatula

Not a day goes by without me using my spatula. To scrape that last bit of sauce out of the pan or to scoop your freshly made nut butter out of your blender. Just be careful: buy a silicone spatula and not one made of hard plastic. A silicone version bends, allowing you to really get the pan completely clean. It can go back into the cupboard in one go.
