The make-up emergency kit that every woman should have

Have you always wanted to know what the ultimate beauty secrets are from the best make-up gurus in the world? I've arranged that for you, because last week Eliano Bou Assi, the regional director of Bobbi Brown, was in our beloved capital. And he told me in detail what is in the make-up emergency kit that every woman should always carry with her. So get your pen, paper, and credit card ready, because here they come.

1. The ultimate preparation: skincare

How do you start your day from now on? By carefully studying your skin. It turns out that not many women know this, but your skin is a little different every day. Therefore, you should definitely not use the same product every day. Do you do that? Change it quickly, because factors like exercising, the weather, traveling, and hormones all affect the condition. The better you get to know your skin, the faster you'll know what the right products are for certain days. This way, you ensure that you shine anew every day. You’re welcome!

2. Concealer

Use concealer only under your eyes and not above, not next to it. This ensures that your eyes brighten the most. For this, use a color that is one or two shades lighter than your normal skin tone. Not sure if you need a liquid or cream concealer? That depends on the fine lines under your eyes. Do you have many? Then use a liquid concealer. Use the cream if you have few lines. I didn't know that either.

3. Foundation

Foundation is the most important part of your emergency kit. Why? Because the wrong color can ruin your entire look. Is your foundation too dark? Then your face gets an orange glow. Too light, on the other hand, makes it grayish. So make sure your foundation matches your skin exactly. And don't forget that your skin changes color every few months. In summer, it’s a bit more sun-kissed, and in winter, it’s drier and lighter. Unfortunately, that means you need to upgrade your foundation every three to four months. But all in the name of beauty, right?

4. Blush

I had seriously never heard of this, but the perfect blush for your skin tone is the same color you have when you blush. For me, that’s a bright: Marco Borsato singing red. Never tried it. It’s now in my online shopping cart.

5. Lipstick

Nude lipstick is the same as your little black dress: indispensable. Buy one in the same color as your lips for a little extra shine. Or one in a slightly darker shade for some power. Either way, take it with you in every bag, because you never know when you might need a power boost.

6. Eyeliner

Using eyeliner above your eyes makes your eyes look bigger. The best color is one that is darker than your own eye color. For most women, black is the best. But if you have very light blonde or red hair, dark brown is better. Start by drawing the line above your eyes at the edge of your lash line and draw it all the way from start to finish. Don’t leave any space between the line and your lash line. And then say heeellllllloooo to those Bambi eyes.

7. Mascara

Before buying mascara, think about what results you want to achieve. Do you have short lashes and want to create some length? Then choose a mascara with a thin brush. For more volume, use a brush that is thicker. Here by the way, read how to apply your mascara best.
