THE SECRET TO PERFECT HAIR

I went in search of an alternative, squeezed one bottle after another empty, but nothing could compare to my old trusted shampoo. Until the new line from L’Oréal winked at me in the Etos. A new ecological line of hair care products; my heart skipped a beat even before I ended up in the shower. Because when you offer a product that is not only good for your body but also good for Mother Earth, I am immediately at the checkout. The new Botanicals products are of natural origin and the ingredients are biodegradable without compromising on quality, texture, and scent.

The hair specialists from the well-known brand have teamed up with farmers to find the most suitable plant extracts that are good for different hair types. For L’Oréal, it was more important to achieve a natural scent and texture than the ultimate pampering experience. The hair products are free from parabens, colorants, and silicones, and even the packaging is made from recycled materials.

“My heart skipped a beat even before I ended up in the shower.”

We all want our products to lather and smell good, but in doing so, we forget that these kinds of additives are actually not necessary at all. The reason brands put silicones in their hair products is that it makes your hair smooth and shinier. They create a layer around your hair that seals it and provides that shine. As a result, air and moisture can no longer reach the roots, causing your hair to weigh down. Parabens are often used as preservatives in cosmetics. Without parabens, many cosmetic products would spoil quickly. Research has been conducted on the effect of parabens on animals, which showed that parabens may have a weak estrogenic effect. Since estrogen plays a role in the development and growth of breast cancer, it has been suggested that parabens could cause breast cancer. However, a direct link between parabens and breast cancer has never been proven, and there is currently insufficient evidence to show that parabens are carcinogenic. It is known that parabens can cause allergic reactions, especially when applied to damaged skin.

Botanicals has launched four different lines, each with a different effect for every hair type.

1. Geranium – Brightens and revitalizes. Suitable for dull and colored hair.

2. Safflower – Nourishing. Suitable for dry hair.

3. Coriander – Strengthens and protects. Suitable for fragile hair.

4. Calmelina – Hydrates and softens. Suitable for frizzy hair.

The green coriander line has recently been in my shower, and since then I can't live without it. The products are made with coriander seeds, soybeans, and coconut that protect your hair fibers from harmful external influences. Every day I wash my hair with the shampoo and massage the conditioner into my hair ends. Before I dry my hair, I squeeze a few drops of strength potion, and I’m ready to go. Not only is my hair happy, but my wallet and I are okay again.

The Botanicals line is available at Kruidvat and Etos.
