THE SIX WEDDING TRENDS OF BRIDAL WEEK IN NYC

After all the hyper-busy fashion weeks in London, Milan, Paris and NYC, the Big Apple traditionally focuses last on fashion for future brides. Have you just been asked to marry (colleague, are you reading along?) and are you already busy decorating your Pinterest wall, then definitely keep reading. These are the wedding trends for your dream dress for the upcoming season.

1. Appliqué (Marchesa – Oscar de la Renta – Kleinfeld)

Next season we will see a lot of flowers on the pristine white gowns. From abstract to romantic, as long as it blooms. And 3D is.

2. Capes (Monique Lhuillier – Naeem Khan – David’s Bridal)

Something you may not have seen before but looks incredibly fairy-tale-like. The cape is the new veil. In tulle. Not only warming if your day is a bit cooler than expected, but also extremely photogenic.

3. Statement earrings (Monique Lhuillier – Naeem Khan – Lela Rose)

I think this is really nice. This wedding season, big eye-catchers can hang from your ears. It can be a classic pearl, but also a dramatic gypsy pendant.

4. Feathers (Monique Lhuillier – Berta Bridal – Jenny Packham)

Go out of your comfort zone with feathers. Cuffs with little feathers or plumes at the bottom of your skirt.

5. Grand (Carolina Herrera – Marchesa)

Puffed sleeves made of tulle and large bows on the skirt. Carolina Herrera knows better than anyone how to tackle this.

6. Collars (Inbal Dror – Justin Alexander)

If you don't want any of those frills, bows, and fringes and you are more team ‘less is more’? Then this might be the winning trend for you. A long simple gown with a subtle collar. I’m a fan.
