This is how you easily replace your dairy products

‘Milk, the white motor’, who hasn't been raised with it? I… For various reasons, I was put on a milk- and sugar-free diet as a child. diet This was because I, as a little girl, was constantly running around with a runny nose and the right nutrition helped me with that. But even without that runny nose, I now prefer the green motor. Not that I never sit with a spoon in a bowl of quark anymore, and you won't take that cheese platter away from me, but because I consume less dairy, I not only feel more energetic, but my intestines are also a lot happier. For example, I rarely have issues with a bloated stomach anymore. Do you want to join me in going a bit greener and leaving dairy behind more often? I’ll list the substitutes for you.

1. Milk

It's not very difficult to replace that carton. milk Nowadays, you are bombarded in the supermarket with plant-based milk, from almond to rice, oat, and coconut milk. I myself am the biggest fan of Provamel Almond Milk, but only the unsweetened variant. The coconut/rice variant is delicious in coffee, but deserves a shared first place with Oatly Oat Drink Barista.

2. Soy yogurt

This is probably the most well-known plant-based alternative for your yogurt. Soy yogurt often contains added sugars, so make sure you get the unsweetened variant. Delicious for breakfast, but also a good base for a creamy homemade ice pop.

3. Coconut yogurt

Coconut yogurt is a very pure product without strange additives. Unfortunately, it is hard to find and extremely expensive. Do check the ingredients, as sometimes extra sugars are sneakily added.

4. Silken tofu

Silken tofu is a protein-rich product and yes, the name says it all, extremely soft in texture. It is the perfect base for your plant-based pudding, baked goods, or smoothie bowl.

5. Cream

Did you know that with a handful of raw cashews and a bowl of water, you can make a delicious creamy sauce? Yes, girlfriend, life can be that simple. If you have little time to prepare, a carton of oat or soy cream is also a good alternative for your pasta, soup, or other sauce.

6. Butter

Butter can be easily replaced by plant-based oil. I personally work with olive oil, but coconut oil is also a good substitute for the pan or in your baked goods.

7. Ice cream

And the freezers in the supermarket are also making way for vegan options nowadays. Have you tried the ice creams from Professor Grunschnabel yet? 100% of course and plant-based; free from colorings, preservatives, and synthetic fragrances and flavors, and also lactose, gluten, and soy-free. The flavors are amazing. I mention a Banana Bahiana (banana, coconut milk, bourbon vanilla) and an Indian Winter (ginger root with Indian spices). You want this, right?

8. Cheese

Yes, and here we go. This remains a sensitive point, because I really can't resist that piece of goat cheese or that halloumi. Let alone that huge cheese platter with a good glass of red wine. But if you do want to replace your piece of cheese with a plant-based variant, there is vegan mozzarella and you can make very tasty cheesy spreads based on cashews. Replace Parmesan cheese with nutritional yeast flakes and your favorite pasta pesto can also be made completely vegan.. ‘Milk, the white motor’, who hasn't been raised with it?
