Tips against frizzy hair

That the sun is not only harmful to your skin but also to your hair, I already told you earlier. The sun draws moisture out of your hair, making those shiny locks feel like a bundle of straw after a long day at the beach. And I already have a pretty difficult relationship with my hair. I have a lot of hair, but it's thin. It's not straight, but it doesn't curl either. It mostly has a mind of its own. Sometimes I have good hair days, but actually, that's more often not the case. Is your hair also a complete dull mess? With these tips, you can combat dry hair. And you will need them this summer…

1. Use less shampoo

When I'm in the shower, I prefer to lather my hair with a generous amount of shampoo. Only then does my hair feel clean, or at least I think so. Because shampoo does clean your hair, but it also removes the natural oils, which can make your hair dry and frizzy. Try to keep it to a drop, wash it with lukewarm to warm water, and rinse with cold water afterwards.

2. Apply coconut oil

You probably think that your hair will become a greasy mess from coconut oil, but that's actually not the case. It's even one of the lighter oils that spreads well, allowing it to absorb quickly into your hair. This means your hair won't become stringy, limp, and greasy right away, as can happen quickly with heavier oils like olive oil. Additionally, coconut oil contains a natural SPF, so it's ideal if you're going to the beach for the day.

Heat a spoonful of coconut oil in a small pan. Let it cool slightly and then distribute it over damp hair, from your scalp to the tips. Keep massaging until your hair is completely saturated. Then wrap your hair in a towel or an old T-shirt and let it sit for a few hours (or overnight). Rinse it out thoroughly and wash your hair as you normally would.

3. Pat, don't rub

Wet hair is much more fragile than dry hair. Pat your hair dry instead of rubbing it harshly. Do you like to wrap your wet hair in a huge towel? Try using a shirt instead; it's much gentler on your locks.

4. Air dry

Heat damages your hair and makes it frizzy. Try to let your hair dry outdoors, especially in the summer.

5. Blow-dry, don't straighten

Still attached to the straightener? Put it aside and reach for the blow dryer. Use a product to protect your hair from heat, don't blow-dry on the highest setting, and keep at least ten centimeters away.

6. Hair mask

Use a nourishing hair mask at least once a week. hair mask. On a budget? Grab your bottle of olive oil from the kitchen and drizzle some oil on the tips.

7. The right products

Products with alcohol dry out your hair, so avoid those. Use a drop of serum after washing. Not too much, because before you know it, your dose will turn from dry to a sticky spaghetti mess.

8. Nutrition

Healthy on the inside = healthy on the outside. Salmon, avocado, and nuts contain a lot of healthy fats. Our skin, hair, and nails love that.
