We have something to celebrate again

You should know that when it comes to crazy holidays, our Adeline is aware of everything. National Lasagna Day (yes, it exists) to Dance Like a Chicken Day (May 14, in case you wanted to know); everything is neatly noted in her agenda. Just make sure you never say that carnival is a bizarre holiday, because our A is not a fan of that. Carnival is actually the best – her words, not mine. Admittedly, I lived in Brabant for a few years and participated nicely, but give me Halloween for a fun costume party. The ‘horse in the hallway’ and ‘sex with that bald guy’ stuff is not part of my repertoire.

In case you missed it, today is officially Sweater Day. Honestly, I think they could make it Sweater Month here, because is there anything else you wear in this weather? No, that’s what I thought. Also not entirely unimportant, Sweater Day is not just some random holiday that was created because someone has a fondness for wearing sweaters. It’s actually something environmentally conscious and something we should all pay a bit more attention to.

And what’s nice is that it’s a good reason to go shopping again (ha, now I’ve got your attention), so I brought out my inner Lilian Brijl and sniffed around the web looking for the sweaters that make me feel really warm. Literally and figuratively. Happy shopping!

Ganni Julliard Mohair Pullover

In the category ‘costs a bit, but you just want it’: the Julliard sweater from one of my favorite Danish brands Ganni. Available in multiple colors.

Ganni €399

Jumper 1234

Alright, a brand from my hometown London that I’ve fallen head over heels for. A bit harder to find in the Netherlands because you can’t shop it online, but lucky me, because in a week Simone and I are heading to London for Fashion Week, so I can nicely expand my cashmere sweater collection. By the way, here are some tips for London in case you’re heading that way soon.

Parisienne, Maison Kitsuné

A tip if you’re in Amsterdam: stop by The Pelican Studio. You’ll find the most beautiful brands here, including Maison Kitsuné from which this sweater is. And well, if you’ve lived in Paris for seven years, then you obviously need to have this sweater.

Maison Kitsuné via The Pelican Studio €149,95

WolfWare

I’m an advocate for supporting your locals. The Netherlands has so many cool brands these days, and WolfWare is one of them. Basics but with a twist. Spicing up your winter outfit has never been easier.

WolfWare Grey Sweat €129,90

Girls Sweater, Daylliance

A personal favorite of mine that I’m currently living in. And I’m not alone, because this sweater has already made its rounds at our editorial office. Very warm AND very cool with just the right amount of pink and it goes well with everything. I say a must-have for this winter.

Daylliance Girls Sweater €59,95

Selina Striped Knit Sweater, The Darling

Because I believe everyone should have a Breton stripe hanging in their closet. And in terms of fit, it’s of course best in winter if it’s oversized. If you’re in Amsterdam, drop by The Darling in the 9 Streets!

Selina Striped Knit Sweater €39,90

Yeez Louise, The Street Revolution

Looking for sweaters with cool illustrations? Then Yeez Louise is your new buddy. And as soon as we swap Sweater Day for T-shirt Day, you’re good with them too. Just look.

The Street Revolution via 9straatjesonline €80
