Why eyebrows
are terror
(And tips on how to make them beautiful)
If there’s anything about makeup that I find excruciatingly annoying, complicated, and please-kill-me-now, it’s eyebrows. My bangs are my salvation, as my hairy friends can hide safely behind them. But. There’s always danger lurking. If even the slightest breeze comes up, the bangs are nowhere to be found and my unruly brows become visible, after which I panic and pull my comb out of my bag to fix everything again #TheStruggleIsReal.
But what if I might be chosen to participate in experienced Expedition Robinson and those bangs are greasy within two days? Well, then they’re out of my face. AND HERE COMES THE TERROR: then those sad little hair stripes above my eyes become visible. So it’s time to tackle that shit. I opened YouTube, typed in ‘Nikkie Tutorials‘ (the biggest beauty blogger on earth) and watched. And watched. And watched. For you, for me, for everyone with ’ugly‘ eyebrows. What did I learn?
Nikkie barely has eyebrows herself
Seriously, her eyebrow stops halfway across her head. But with the right makeup products (MAC is a pro in eyebrow powders), you can’t see that at all. In fact: you create the most beautiful eyebrows on earth yourself. Look this video maar even.

It’s all in your equipment
Invest in a good tweezers, a nice flat eyebrow brush, and look for makeup that really matches your hair color. Start with a primer and finish it off with a good eyebrow gel so everything stays in place all day.
Concealer under your eyebrow = your new best friend
Eyebrows like Nikkie? Then, once you’re done shaping your eyebrow, use a concealer on a slanted flat brush to create a clean line under your artwork. Eyebrows on fleek for sure.
Stop using that magnifying mirror while plucking
Do you really think that mega zooming mirror gives you the best view of your eyebrow hairs? Not at all. Just grab a mirror where your whole brows are visible, that way you can’t mess up the shape.
Accept that left and right will never be equal
You read it everywhere: your eyebrows are sisters, not twins. They will never be perfectly symmetrical, so for heaven's sake stop plucking them to match. Often you end up taking too much away.
Go to a brow whisperer
Okay, maybe not learned from Nikkie, but learned from May. She recently has a brow whisperer and her name is Roya. Have you really plucked too much from your brows? Roya will fix it. Really.
