Why you need a black bag in your life
Do we still remember the worst shopping story ever? My branch-hell at the Bijenkorf where I wanted to buy a Marc Jacobs bag and then did something INTENSELY stupid? Yes? Then you can keep reading. No? Then this is your mandatory catch-up homework.. Trust me, it's schadenfreude.
All caught up? Great. Then I will now talk about the follow-up. The happily ever after of Mrs. Jacobs and me. Because despite the fact that I really did sulk for 72 hours about the bag, we are now buddies for life. In fact: I've had Marc for about three weeks now and to be precise, also three weeks around my neck. The Black Bag, meine mafklapper, a world is opening up for me.
Dark green long skirt with white printed T-shirt? The black bag completes it. Red off-shoulder dress with floral print and cowboy boots? The black bag goes with it. Jeans, simple sweater? The black bag CAN. And looking at my wardrobe (one big orgy of color explosions and prints), I am quite the mesjogge that I haven't bought a black stuff wrapper before. Because:
- The black bag sticks immediately to your body and doesn't come off.
- Having a black bag saves time in the morning, because it almost always matches.
- The black bag gets you more compliments than you think beforehand.
- Because all the non-stubborn fashionistas do know the advantages.
- You hardly ever see stains on black. Winning.
- It looks good on almost everyone and makes your look mature.
- A black bag is timeless.
- And works for EVERY season (while that one bag with lemon print is indeed very cute in summer, it still collects dust in the winter).
So, if you're like me a creative flutter who is way too stubborn for a black bag: put your pride aside and just do it. You will be grateful to me. And you know what they say, right: once you go black…
