Working with women is good for you

I sipped on a large glass of white Vedett yesterday (yes, beer) and then I heard it. Actually, I wanted to jump on the terrace table and dance really hard right away, but the bitterballen on the table stopped me. Oh, did I say that out loud? I mean crudités, of course. But the man at my table said that he liked having a woman as a partner in crime. Work-wise. Not just nice, but actually just necessary. He is a manager, you should know. But I found that sensible, a sensible sentence. I agree with him. Women in the workplace are good for business.

Now I might be a little biased. I'm typing this with twelve women around me. Yes, twelve. But there is a quota, and that quota stipulates that you must aim for thirty percent women in your team or company. Well, that has already been achieved in Amayzine. Female editor-in-chief? Check. Sales director? Check. All your editors? Check. And the driving forces behind the scenes? Checkered check-check-double check. Women are in the majority in Pilotenstraat. And maybe you should also think about having more women in your team.

Women under 45 are now more highly educated than men. Good news, good news. Because surrounding yourself with smart people makes you smart. That brain gets triggered to think even more brilliantly. Think of this as a domino effect, it rushes towards the Einstein-like side with your business.

“Feeling is not a dirty word”

In general (aside from Kiki's office), women work very precisely and concentrated. Our editorial team sometimes resembles a chattering mass, but when something needs to happen, it happens. Utmost concentration, earplugs in the ear, and just type and rattle away on those keys.

Until the age of thirty, a woman earns more than a man. That actually doesn't matter at all, but I think it's a celebration. Oh, shit. So I'm just turning thirty.

Feeling is not a dirty word and therefore it really should come to work with you. Crying is also allowed, read here for a moment. A woman finds it easier to vent her heart. And yes, it definitely takes a quarter of an hour to discuss that he first texted this, then that, and then nothing more, but once that has been thoroughly discussed, you can just get back to work instead of worrying about this issue all day long.

They make sure you don't neglect yourself. Because as you know, it's definitely not the men we dress up for. Nope, we do that for other women (or for yourself, of course). So you show up looking sharp at the office.

So, if you had any doubts, I would just invite that female candidate for a chat. Fun, that's what it will be. Oh yes, and good for your business.
