Yeahs: I get to go to the casting day of Expeditie Robinson

And suddenly it was there. The long-awaited email. I was sitting in my hotel room in Bangkok when the message popped in, and since then I haven't thought about anything else.

The very first thing that came to my mind when I read that I could go to the casting weekend? YEAHS! The second? HELP MOM I'M SCARED. When is it all going to happen? Somewhere in April. I don't even dare to mention the exact date, because the rest of the email contains all sorts of mysterious things about what you can/cannot communicate. The location, for example. Strictly confidential. What I can say? There will be two selection days. On day 1, 100 people will compete for a spot, after which Dennis Weening will announce the names of the people who will proceed to the second round at the end of the day. The next day, various tasks will be done from which four winners will emerge.

‘Furthermore, the word sportswear is mentioned so often that it makes me a bit scared’

It's a bit of a shame: bringing family/friends is not the intention. Of course, you can be dropped off or picked up from the location, but your posse will have to wait in the car outside the premises. Shit, I really hoped to shine there with #TeamAmayzine... But on the other hand: on the island, you are also alone, so that's already good preparation. Furthermore, the word sportswear is mentioned so often that it makes me a bit scared. I quote: “Bring multiple sets of (sports) clothing, (sports) shoes, and enough towels. A water bottle is also handy.” Help times fifteen. But well, every disadvantage has its advantage, so that's a good reason for a fierce shopping session. Anyone have tips for really trendy sportswear? Simone? Joe?

Okay, I'm going to enjoy my very last day in Bangkok (more about that later, of course). For now, I want to grab my Oscar moment and digitally high five and kiss everyone who voted for me. Thanks to those 5484 (!) votes, I have made it to the casting day. Thanks to you, yes, so let's give yourself a big round of applause and from here on, I will have to kick some ass myself.

To be continued…
