27 things you can worry about when you're pregnant

I always thought: that won't happen to me. But it does happen to me. I am also such a panicky, stressful, overdramatic mother. Already. How terrible.

And the boys aren't even here yet, can you imagine. But I've been quite anxious lately about every cramp or twinge in my belly. Well, everything I feel. Am I the only one, is my question now?

Hopefully not. You recognize this when you are pregnant for the first time and therefore doubt everything a little:

  1. With a strange stitch in your belly: maybe it's early contractions.
  2. How do contractions feel? Do you know right away that they are contractions?
  3. As soon as you start googling, your stress only gets worse: everything on the internet is immediately the worst case scenario.
  4. Sometimes you think you need to pee again while you really don't.
  5. You think about peeing all day but you really don't need to. Except at night. Five times.
  6. You feel something poking in your lower back and wonder if this is your pelvis. Doesn't everyone suffer from pelvic instability? Why not you?
  7. You start googling what your pelvis is and what instability is and you get even more stressed. And pain in your lower back.
  8. Suddenly your cervix feels very short. You can't feel it but you think it anyway.
  9. You find that next ultrasound taking a long time: you want to see and hear your baby now to know everything is okay.
  10. How is your baby, or babies, positioned? Are they in the right position for delivery, with their heads down?
  11. Still quickly schedule highlights at the hairdresser, you want to look somewhat flattering when you go to that hospital.
  12. How long should you lie in bed after delivery? How does that puffing work? How does that pushing work? Don't google.
  13. Will you want a glass of wine right after delivery? Or only after a week?
  14. You have cramps in your legs: can that harm the baby? Is something wrong with me? Are these those pelvis issues?
  15. Is it weird to buy something expensive for yourself to pamper yourself before all the happenings down there start? That should be okay, right?
  16. You have to run to the bathroom and not even for a pee: can that harm a baby? Google. Oh no, don't google.
  17. You are incredibly thirsty at night but you don't dare to drink because then you'll dream about peeing again.
  18. You decide to go pee those three drops again because you're awake now because of that thirst.
  19. You think about how you can squeeze a nap into your busy schedule tomorrow.
  20. Can you still lie on your back? Is that harmful?
  21. You think back to the times when you could still sleep on your stomach.
  22. You think back to the times when you would wake up thirsty because you had drunk too much wine.
  23. You feel something moving in your belly and now you doubt whether it's your baby or your rumbling intestines.
  24. Now you feel guilty that you can't tell the difference between your intestines and your child.
  25. The nursery is not finished yet.
  26. You haven't started on the nursery yet.
  27. Will your breasts stay this big?
