9X why taking a dog to the office is the best idea ever
Our company has a ‘no children, no pets policy’. You can certainly have them, but please leave them at home. Of course, having your own business (hi there) comes with its privileges, so today my new puppy got to come to the office. Alert to all colleagues: sorry, the dog gates are not open with this. A barking bunch, we are not ready for that yet. But someday, Amayzine will just have a daycare and a kennel. Because dogs in the office are just great.
1. Less stress
A dog in the office reduces stress. I'm not making this up, okay? That's what ‘they’ say at Virginia Commonwealth University.
2. Boosts morale
You probably stay a little longer, the office feels more like home and less like a place where you sit out your eight hours. It's pleasant and feels safe. If a company offers you that, you also like to give a little extra back.
3. Higher productivity
You probably use every usable moment. You have your moments of relaxation (petting, walking), but otherwise, you use your time very well. And it could very well be that you come up with better ideas because you occasionally step away from the material during a cuddle session.
4. Happier employees
Because cuddling, walking, petting, and laughing. And how wonderful is it when someone always greets you wagging their tail and with floppy ears of joy? Even if you've just been to the bathroom for a moment.
5. Less absenteeism
If you're happy at work, you like to come. That flu has to be really strong and severe for you to call in sick. The office is a nice place where you and your dog are welcome. By the way, this is a nice sick leave etiquette.
6. Better relationships between colleagues
When you walk together for a bit or are petting a sweet dog belly, you tend to look for what binds you in other things rather than what separates you.
7. More working hours
Because you're having a good time.
As I said, it's not going to happen with us yet, but if you have a dog that you really want to bring to the office, then you could apply here.
