A beauty salon at home in 4 steps

You can't make me happier than with a lovely beauty day every now and then: an extensive facial, pedi plus waxing session and I can take on the world again. Now I try to schedule such a beauty wash street once every two months, but before Otis I could barely keep up with this timeline, let alone since the little man came to enrich our lives. So I've been on the lookout for the best do-it-yourself beauty products that have just as much effect as those at a professional salon. It's a small investment, but in the end, you get double and more out of it. Plus: you can schedule the treatments at times that suit you well. Secretly, I'm already piecing together that beauty day once every two weeks.

  1. After a nice peeling in the salon, my skin always feels incredibly soft. I have very dry and sensitive skin, so most at-home peels are way too harsh for me. However, this set from !QMS works perfectly for sensitive skin. With the daily Exfoliant of fruit acids and enzymes, you remove dead skin cells and stimulate cell renewal. The Day and Night Collagen provide extra hydration, firming, and reduce fine lines. Really a recommendation for a daily soft skin.
  2. My mother is always up to date with the latest beauty devices for home use. When I saw this NuFace facial device on her bathroom shelf, I was immediately curious. It promises a natural facelift using microcurrent technology. Now, I don't easily believe in those do-it-yourself devices, but with this one, you see results immediately. Your skin feels tighter and firmer right away, and after a month, I really saw my fine lines diminish significantly. Already my purchase of the year.
  3. I wish I could say that I have those fluffy little feet, but unfortunately, that's not the case. That's why I really think it's a must to have nicely painted toenails, so it all looks a bit more cheerful. But getting a pedicure often falls by the wayside; I'd rather spend that free hour with Otis at the petting zoo. The Caption nail polish works like a gel polish, without needing a whole lamp. In ten minutes, everything is on, and it stays good on your feet for at least a month.
  4. I find the whole waxing process quite a hassle. Your hairs need to be exactly the right length, you lie pretty awkwardly with your legs wide on a table with a so-called wax angel that you know for exactly one minute, and it's not exactly painless. Right now, I'm in the middle of an IPL hair removal treatment, but apparently, this can also be found as a home device nowadays. With the Philips Lumea, your hairs are already 90 percent less after three to four treatments, it's super easy to use, and it genuinely doesn't hurt (I really don't have a high pain threshold). The first IPL-at-home party with friends, a bowl of chocolate pepernoten (yep, already in stores!), and Netflix is already planned.
