A quarter of people use children as an excuse for sex

Headache? No way. Tired of kids playing at home, kids whining, kids being teenagers, and kids crying – that’s what you say.

A quarter of women regularly admit to using ‘the kids’ as an excuse for sex. They don’t say that they aren’t in the mood for a romp but that they are ‘too tired from the kids’. Or that they are ‘afraid the kids will hear them’. Yes, we can relate to that. Women use this excuse four times more often than men. And what’s really striking? Women around their thirties use this excuse the most. At least 63 percent of women in that age group throw the kids into the mix to be able to sleep flat like a starfish.

But kids are often used when needed. Almost half of the women have ever brushed off friends by simply saying that it’s ‘too busy at home’, even though that dinner at her place could have easily happened. Just because we don’t feel like it, we pretend it’s all because of those pesky kids.

And that’s not all. A quarter of women would also like to spend some extra money on a vacation if they can go without the kids for a week in the sun. A bit sad for those little ones, but mothers clearly want some peace too. Who knows, maybe they’ll actually want to get it on while on vacation.
