Greece Diary

The fun of having your own business is that in principle anything is possible. Not with an Excel sheet in front of an eight-member board in suits. Just looking at each other, wondering if we can ‘make it happen’ as we say in Amsterdam and go for it. About eight months ago, my right-hand Daniëlle and I thought it would be fun to plan a team outing. To the sun. Daan dove into the emails and since she can manage the world from behind her laptop, we eventually received a white smoke message. We were going to Greece.

And now we are here. For a moment we were a bit anxious, as it seemed to be tropical in the Netherlands and autumn in Chaldikiki, but at this moment I am sitting in my swimsuit in the sun with a battery of Lancaster products next to me, so everything is fine.

Where we are, you want to know. Sani Beach Resort. The ideal getaway if you want to escape quickly. Two and a half hours of flying, fifty minutes in a VIP bus and you are in a carefree resort. Pools with children, adults-only pools, buffet restaurants, à la carte restaurants, bars, beach, shops, workouts…

We ate divine Greek food on a terrace by the small harbor, danced the tzatziki, recovered the sirtaki and the girls (Kiki, Annabelle, Lilian, sales star Annick and designers Nikita and Lotte) jumped into the pool for a midnight dip and Adeline took the photos. They stayed in the pool until the manager kindly but firmly asked them to leave the pool.

The night was calm, the breakfast extensive. Lotte and I even let ourselves be tempted to a game of aquarobics. And now, we are lying on nine sunbeds on the beach. Laptops open, diet cola in front of us and softly thinking about where we will have lunch later.

To be continued...
