ARE YOU ASHAMED OF YOUR LOVER AT THE TABLE?
That your toes curl because you just can't believe your love just did that at the table. Our neighbors from FavorFlav are scrutinizing the table manners of the lovers in our lives.
Do your neck hairs stand on end when your boyfriend secretly picks his nose during dinner or does your girlfriend make loud smacking sounds? You're not the only one who gets annoyed. Research shows that one in six Dutch people is ashamed of their partner's table manners.
It can be quite a thing to take your new love to meet your family for the first time. At home, you can still try to influence your flame's outfit, but once at the table, it's every man for himself. What a nightmare if he or she suddenly starts burping and sits with their hand in their pants after eating while your cheeks turn red.
Women are the most ashamed
In light of the upcoming Christmas season, the website Acties.nl conducted research on table manners in the Netherlands. Notably, 21 percent of women are twice as likely to be ashamed of their partner than men are. Of those, only 10 percent are ashamed of their significant other. As a woman, I might be biased, but I can imagine it. I've sat across from many a man who shoves his food in like a caveman and doesn't even know how to hold his cutlery. Total turn-off!
Biggest blunder
What is the biggest blunder your partner has committed during a family visit or when he or she first met your friend group? Email your weirdest experience to emma@favorflav.com and have a chance to win an etiquette book. Perfect gift for Christmas, right?
