And she is incredibly proud

It took some blood, sweat, and tears, but the premiere of ‘Female Rappers’ was a success. Not even half an hour before the start, I was still crying and shaking like a leaf in the hall: everything that could go wrong, went wrong… The acoustics were so terrible in the space that we could do zero rehearsals and spent all our precious time on the sound (which is quite important, since 80 percent of the performance consists of music). With hope, we started the show and luckily it was solid. The whole audience went wild and I am so incredibly proud of what we have achieved! Maybe we should seriously consider a career in the rap scene after all. I can't wait to rock this show again at the Melkweg next Saturday and Sunday again at the Supperclub.

Now that all the rehearsals are over, I have to force myself to come out of that ‘jogging suit-winter sleep’ again. Believe me, after four weeks non-stop in such a comfy suit, it takes some getting used to switch to a ‘fashion outfit’ with the accompanying tights, scratchy fabrics, or a beautiful statement pants that really fits a bit tighter after the pregnancy. But thanks to Janice, I might be able to combine these two points after all. This cheerful limited edition sweater feels great and with its bright colors, it immediately makes a statement. Compromise: I’ll add the ‘fashionable jogging look’ to my repertoire.

On vacation, Jon and I truly enjoyed working out every day. Now I must say that this wasn't too difficult, as we could literally roll from our hotel room to the beautiful gym and the walk happened in thirty degrees. But once home in the cold, we decided to pick up the sporty thread together. And in the new gym called Saints & Stars, that’s no punishment. If I didn’t know better, I would think I was entering a five-star hotel when opening the locker room: Eric Kuster’s entire design provides a luxury spa feeling instead of a place where you get completely worn out. And that helps quite a bit for your mindset, I can tell you! My first boxing class is already scheduled and once a week Mr. and Mrs. Karthaus can be found in the personal training space. Curious how quickly this pays off.

This week our little man is already nine months old. All clichés are true: it all goes so incredibly fast. When I look at photos from a month ago, I see such a different little face. Yesterday we experienced Otis’ first Easter breakfast at the daycare: this may sound like a trivial moment, but for me, it feels like the kickoff for the coming twelve years of Easter breakfasts, school trips, Christmas dinners, and birthday parties. And seeing De Luizenmoeder, I better brace myself for all those future mother clubs, which I will of course participate in with love and where I will undoubtedly want to take the lead just a bit too enthusiastically to make everything go perfectly. Another cliché that you just can't escape, I’m afraid.
