Otis is lost
Just a week ago, I could easily put Otis on his play mat and quickly do the laundry. But those times are now forever gone... Last weekend, I had a heart attack when I walked into the room and no longer saw Otis. Our living room isn't that big, is it? Suddenly, I saw a little foot crawling at a rapid pace towards the outlet behind the chair. Just in time, I managed to pull him away. Tomorrow, I will immediately buy outlet protectors. And as if I wasn't shocked enough, he fell with his head on the edge of the table at the end of the afternoon and got his very first bump. Welcome to the wonderful world of toddlers, I hear all the mothers thinking. Our peace is now forever gone. We need to quickly upgrade that first aid kit.
Last year, Marly and I both stood with a big belly at the Clean Faces Week. This feels like three months ago, but now that the new Clean Faces Week has started, we are reminded of ‘the time’. Marly and I have been taught from home that it is important to cleanse your face twice a day and were shocked by the number of ladies who do not do this... That’s why we find it important to commit ourselves to this week and create more awareness about this topic.
In the past (as in: before I became a mother), I could enjoy a lovely pedicure every two months. Now, I don't find feet beautiful objects anyway, so well-groomed and a nice coat of polish is a must for me. But suddenly, I literally can't find a slot in my schedule and have been staring somewhat sadly at my unpolished, dry, and unkempt feet for months. And now that the temperature stays above twenty degrees, I can no longer hide them in closed shoes. I'm lucky that Sense Lifestyle is celebrating its ten-year anniversary and has invited me to celebrate this with a super deluxe pedicure! From now on, I will just make time every other month for such a nice session.
On my friends‘ timeline, I saw the same book pop up four times in one day: ’Mindgym, gym for your mind'. Besides the fact that I know the author Wouter de Jong from the youth theater school (and you might know him as Milan in GTST), I was immediately triggered by the title. Now, I am – if I may say so myself – doing quite well with exercising and eating healthy, but I still often feel a lot of unrest in my body. This book claims to improve your mental condition in twelve weeks with scientific insights and practical exercises. As if I have oceans of time, I decide to take on this challenge and read a piece every night before going to sleep. I am very curious about the results, keep you posted!
