Alessandro Michele set the trend about four fashion seasons ago. In metallic, bright pink, adorned with embroidery, dipped in glitter, and even worn with a fur jacket: the Gucci loafers are hugely on trend.

But where a trend usually emerges quietly and in basic colors, this was anything but the case with the loafers. Gucci is exuberant. And as much as the flamboyant birds of paradise and fashion people have loved these loafers from day one, the path to people outside this colorful world took a bit longer. Because finding an exuberant and affordable pair was still somewhat of a challenge. But now you really can't ignore them anymore, and there is a loafer for everyone.

For everyone, so also for me. Although I must honestly admit: those glitters, embroideries, and fur are not necessarily a no-go for me. Gucci from the catwalk? Duh. So those loafers too, for sure. But somehow there was still no match made in heaven, and combined with doubt, the designer price tag ultimately became a no for me. Until the perfect mix of a black basic and coolness itself crossed my path.

Nothing against Alessandro of course, because he is totally my boy, but it is Isabel Marant (she won't be the one) who makes my fashion heart beat faster today. And if they also drop with 30% on sale there's nothing else to do but rock them hard.
