Meter-long fries is the latest trend

Are you addicted to your bag of fries and do you go through the McDrive weekly because you can't get enough of the thin crispy French fries? Then I have good news for you. You just need to take a little trip, but it's worth it. The Japanese chain Harajuku Gyoza, specializing in Japanese street food, serves infinitely long fries at seven locations in Australia.

The upgraded Japanese snack bar calls the 30-centimeter long fry ‘crispy foot long fries‘. They have been known in Japan for a while, but the chain is now bringing them to Australia as well.

How the infinite fries are made is not known. But judging by the images, they make long strands of mashed potatoes with a potato ricer, which immediately disappear into the hot frying oil. If you think that they just sprinkle salt on top, you are mistaken. The crispy long fries are très chic topped with a mixture of sea salt mixed with seaweed and dried, shaved tuna. And with fries, you need mayo. Lots of mayo.

And now we just have to wait until the Japanese come our way. Until then, we'll have to make do with the French. With fries sauce, that's not a disaster...
