Disney: 6 things you want to know in advance

Are you going to Disneyland?

6 things you want to know in advance

I was there. For the fourth time. Because Disney = party. With, but certainly also without children. Although three girls are the perfect excuse to let your Pluto fetish run wild. This sounds dirtier than I mean, but you get my drift. So we went. And it was once again unparalleled, so much fun. But you are not the only one who is itching at the gate, so listen to these tips from the Disney recidivist. It makes your life a lot easier.

1. Sleep in a Disney hotel

Then you have the total experience and can make the most of the day, but the park opens for hotel guests at 8:00 AM, so you have the park to yourself for a little while. Well, not entirely, but it is much quieter.

2. Have a late breakfast

Before you have dressed the whole family and everyone has eaten, it’s already 9:00 AM. So the best hour has already been taken from you. Breakfast in the hotels is until 11:00 AM, so what you can better do is give your kids a Sultana and an apple and go into the park at 8:00 AM, then you can join breakfast again at 10:30 and have those first two and a half hours nicely covered. Then head straight to the attractions where the longest lines usually are; you can stroll and shop a bit during peak hours.

3. Reserve lunch in advance

L'Auberge de Cendrillon in Disneyland is the place to be for a nice lunch. You eat well and your children are treated to dances and visits at the table from all the Disney princesses. You need to prepare your credit card because it’s not cheap, but they will remember this moment in their Oscar speech later, really. Tip: reserve as soon as you know you are going to Disneyland, because here too: full is full.

4. If you have a disability, let it be known

Disneyland is very kind to people who need extra care. Are you in a wheelchair or do you have a disorder that falls within the autistic spectrum? Let it be known. At the City Hall in Disneyland, you can request a special pass that allows you to enter attractions through the wheelchair entrance and avoid long waiting times. Of course, you will need a doctor's note and they will check if you are not faking it, but it’s quite nice to have an advantage from a disadvantage.

5. Disney Studios

Euro Disney has two parks: Disneyland and Disney Studios. I was always completely focused on Mickey and the gang, but now I might be even more in love with Disney Studios. The attractions there are just a bit more mature.

6. The Ratatouille attraction

You simply cannot leave Paris without having done that attraction. Masterful is an understatement.
